BIOGRAPHY
Hannah Laski grew up in Los Angeles, California and started their dance journey at local YMCAs at the age of three. After a few years, Hannah began training at a dance studio where they were introduced to the competition dance world. At the same time, they discovered a love for musical theatre and performed in various shows throughout their young adult life, including Jesus Christ Superstar and West Side Story. They graduated from the dance department at the Los Angeles County High School for the Arts (LACHSA) in 2021, through the passionate guidance of Wendy Lawson, Fiona Lummis Eddy, and Yuka Fukuda. In addition to dancing at LACHSA, Hannah trained at Degas Dance Studio under the mentorship of Anacia Weiskittel and has continued to return back as an artist-in-residence since 2021. At sixteen years old, they started teaching ballet and tap classes to children ages three to eight, and now they specialize in teaching floorwork, contemporary, and tap up to age eighteen. Currently, Hannah is on the road to earning a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts in Contemporary Dance Performance from the Boston Conservatory at Berklee and is set to graduate in the spring of 2025. In their time at the Boston Conservatory, they have performed works by Murray Louis, Doug Varone, Dan Wagoner, Laila Franklin, Daniel Pelzig, and Jarek Cemerek and have been influenced by teachers such as Jim Viera, Alissa Cardone, Brian McGinnis, and Marcus Shulkind. They have also had the opportunity to collaborate and perform with HYBRIDMOTION Dance Theatre in Boston, Massachusetts, on their show Descent, which premiered at the FAR Center for Contemporary Arts in 2022. Over the past couple years, Hannah has started to experiment with videography and directing and finds dance on film to be one of their biggest inspirations. They have had multiple films featured in the Boston Conservatory’s Dance on Film Festival that play with different perspectives and allow for viewer interpretation. Hannah is excited to graduate school and continue their career as a professional artist!
